Sir Puka Seeks Blessing

Seems like the more one tries to look at other issues of national interest, the more the whole 'Illegal Air Traffic Movement' issue hits your over the head and looks at you almost eye-ball to eye-ball!

Today's commentary was supposed to be on PNG's overall performance on the Open Budget Survey which was presented at the Institute of National Affairs boardroom today. VERY interesting discussions that need to be elaborated on further, tomorrow we will elaborate on who was there and what was said.

TO-DAY though we MUST visit the I.A.T.M issue hopefully one last time! So the latest word from mainstream media in Australia who contacted the U.S embassy in Port Moresby to confirm the story the crafty NiVans gave our Mista Prime Minista is that it was all lies! Mr Walter North's office said he had no such meeting planned with the NiVan Diplomats. Mr O'Neill said he had not invited the NiVans (which is what they told their Prime Minister-who thought they were elsewhere).

Looks like we're becoming the regional 'gangsta-meeting' hub. All scoundrels, criminals and wanted persons just stop here in PNG, conduct your illicit business and you can just go. It's fine. Wonder what was given in exchange for the favor??? You wonder what these crooks are paying for the secure and private meeting place?

It seems though that not only are we giving crooks a meeting place, we're also giving them business opportunities from what I gather from this story in the Post Courier

Naima Group asks Cabinet help for K200m project

A COMPANY linked to wanted Indonesian fugitive Djoko Tjandra is seeking Cabinet’s blessings to invest in a K200 million 26-floors building in the heart of Waigani in the National Capital District.

The Public Service and Transport Ministers, Sir Puka Temu and Ano Pala, are among a number of ministers who are supporting the submission.
Cabinet was caught by surprise at its last meeting when Sir Puka submitted a proposal for private firm Naima Group of Companies to build a high-rise building and an office complex under a “build, own and lease” arrangement.

The submission is likely to trigger public uproar and comes on the back of growing criticism labeled at the O’Neill government for letting a British-registered Boeing 737 to leave the country last weekend, despite recommendations by PNG Police for its owners and passengers to be investigated and charged.

We've already established that Tjandra was awarded citizenship on highly suspicious grounds AFTER his private jet landed under highly suspicious circumstances at Jacksons Airport last year. He had not been a resident for the minimum 10 years and is still wanted by Interpol for the $65 million debacle in Indonesia.

Now we have the likes of Ano Pala and Puka Temu - barracking for Tjandra! What in the world!!! Here I was almost joining the 'cheer-the-Mista-Prima-Minista-NEC-squad' and now I have to seriously reconsider!

No one wants to cheer someone that has lied so blatantly to the media and the citizens of PNG! No one wants to cheer anyone that puts selfish interest ahead of the interest of the citizens of PNG. No one wants a leader that has lost all self respect and is willing to sell themselves along with their family, their village and their country for a quick gain.
